About Our Church

Sharpening Fellowship Ministries (SFM) is a Christ-centered, non-denominational church devoted to faithfully teaching the Word of God and building a strong community of believers. Our heart is to see people encounter Jesus, grow in spiritual maturity, and walk in bold, daily obedience to Scripture. We believe God uses fellowship and discipleship to strengthen His people—“as iron sharpens iron.” At SFM, you’ll find a welcoming church family, biblical preaching, sincere worship, and a focus on living out the Gospel in everyday life.

Our Mission & Vision

Our vision and mission is to help the saints grow in grace and faith

Sharpening Fellowship Ministries (SFM) has a vision to strongly impact the world through church planting, global evangelism, sound biblical teaching, and sincere discipleship/mentorship for Christian believers.

Give to God through SFM

If you’d like to give to God through our church, there are a few ways to do so below. We appreciate your support! If you can’t sow money into our ministry (which only goes towards mission trips and the poor), please sow some time in prayer for us. God bless!

Our Primary Salvation Beliefs

  • “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Eph. 2:8-9) To be saved, we must put our faith in Jesus and the finished work of the cross (Gal. 3:13). (John 19:28-30)(John 3:16).

  • We believe in the Jesus Christ of the Bible who: was born of a virgin, without sin, both fully man and fully God, that He died on the cross and rose 3 days later, that He is the Way the Truth and the Life and the only way to the Father, that He provided us with the gift and only means of salvation, and He is now at the right hand of God. (Matt. 1:18-25)(Phil. 2:6-8)(1 cor. 15:3-4)(John 14:6)(Eph. 1:20-23)(Heb. 10:12-13)(Rom. 8:34)(John 6:35)

  • We believe in the trinity (Godhead). That God is triune (3-in-1): Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Col 2:9) (John 3:16-17) (John 1:1) (Gen. 1:26) (Isaiah 6:8)(Exo. 3:14— John 8:58)

  • We must repent and become born again to inherit the kingdom of heaven. (John 3:3) (Acts 3:19)

  • “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” (2 Tim. 3:16). The word of God is without error, and anything that contradicts the Word of God is false.

  •  John 4:24 KJV “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Secondary Beliefs

  • We believe you can forfeit your salvation, but you shouldn’t so take heed not to grieve the Spirit (Eph. 4:30-32), be given over to a reprobate/debased mind  (rom. 1:28), and have their name’s blotted out of the book of life (psalm 69:28, Rev. 3:5). This is not anyone snatching out of God’s hand, it is rather willfully choosing to be disobedient and walking out of His righteous right hand (John 10:28-30), (Acts 5:32) for even a NT believers (Ananias and Sapphira) were killed for lying to the Spirit and letting Satan in their hearts (Acts 5:1-10). Hebrews 10:26-27. James 2:14-26.

  • We believe the baptism of the Spirit gives you power and to be a witness (Acts 1:8). Speaking in tongues is not the only initial evidence of the baptism of the Spirit.

  • We believe the gifts of the Spirit are still for today. But we don’t want to be the gifted sifted, so it is important that we bear the fruit of the Spirit. (1 Cor. 12:8-12, 28, Rom. 12:6-8, Eph. 4:11, etc.)

  • Deliverance is the children’s bread, meant for believers (Matt. 15:26) and not to give what is holy to the unholy (Matt. 7:6). Deliverance isn’t for unbelievers (Matt. 12:43-47)

  • Your office is called by God and not by man. Just because you have a seminary degree doesn’t mean God called you to be a pastor; in fact, many pastors have 0 college degrees yet have the office assigned and recognized by heaven. Your office or calling is not for you to boast of, rather it is to glorify God— remember you are first a servant of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe in the biblical structure of the church: the apostle plants the church and works with the prophet(s) to build it on the firm foundation (rock) of Christ. The pastor(s) then shepherds the house of God and the teacher helps teach in the house where the evangelist is the outreach of the church. This is the biblical and positional function of the 5 fold; however, all members to the church whether in or out of the house serve the unified body purpose as needed and called by God. (Ephesians 2:20,

  • We will never focus on making converts, our goal is to make disciples (Matthew 28:19). It is our aim to be good servants (Matt. 25:21), not good sectarians. That being said, we should be one united body in Christ without division. (1 Cor. 3:4-9)

  • The Bible is superior to man tradition, culture and religion when it comes to obeying God rather than man-made religion.

  • The bishop must be the husband to one wife. In other words, the pastor(s) must be: a married man, blameless, not given over to wine…(1 Timothy 3)

  •  The head of woman is man, and the head of man is Christ so He is our  covering. (1 Cor. 11:3).

Encouragement

  • Don’t say “I can’t” for “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:26)
